The units contain several sessions, each with a notional number of hours of learning but it is understood that some may complete it in less than this and some may take longer.
If you plan to submit the cadets for the BTec Certificate, completed workbooks are required (see paragraph below on External Accreditation).
Social Action can help address social problems that are important in your communities. This can include volunteering, fundraising, putting on or taking part in a community event, or simple neighbourly acts, and can improve people’s confidence and skills. Fire Cadet you must help organise at least three successful Social Action activities which will form part of UKFC Fire Cadets Award Two.
Fire Cadets aim to support the requirements expected by external accreditation bodies’ including, but not exclusively, BTEC, ASDAN, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Duke of Westminster. The Fire Cadets Award has been cross mapped to the BTEC Level Two Award and Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community and successful completion of Award One and Award Two workbooks equates to the Level Two certificate.
